This policy explains what personal information Leash and Lane (“we”, “us”) collects when you use Leash & Lane, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have. We keep it to the minimum needed to sell and deliver your order.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Leash and Lane, Cascais, Portugal. Contact: support@leashandlane.com.
What we collect
- Order details: your name, email, phone number, shipping address and the items you bought. You enter these on Stripe’s checkout page and Stripe passes them to us.
- Payment details: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages: what you send us through the contact form or by email.
- Technical data: one essential cookie that keeps your cart (see our cookie policy) and standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested), kept for up to 30 days for security.
We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers, and we don’t build profiles about you.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To process, ship and support your order, including sharing your name, address and phone with our fulfillment partner and the carrier. Basis: performing our contract with you.
- To keep invoices and order records. Basis: legal obligations (tax and accounting).
- To answer your messages. Basis: your request / our legitimate interest in helping customers.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure. Basis: our legitimate interest.
We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising and we don’t send marketing emails.
Who we share it with
- Stripe (payments), in the United States and Ireland.
- CJ Dropshipping, our fulfillment partner, and its warehouses and carriers, mostly in China and the United States, to pack and ship your order.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
Some of these partners are outside the European Economic Area. Where that’s the case, the transfer is either necessary to deliver the order you asked for or protected by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require (up to 10 years). Contact messages are deleted after 2 years. Server logs are deleted after 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy in a portable format. US residents of states with privacy laws (such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Texas) have similar rights, including the right to know what we collect and to delete it.
To use any of these rights, email support@leashandlane.com from the email address used for your order. We reply within 30 days and won’t treat you differently for asking.
If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to a data protection authority. Our lead authority is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD, Portugal, cnpd.pt).
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), payments run on Stripe and access to order data is limited to what’s needed to fulfil orders.
Children
This store isn’t aimed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date below.
